Apples: To Peel or Not to Peel?

In her Washington Post Nutrition Q&A column published 12/2/14, Warshaw answers a reader’s question about the health and nutritional value, along with advantages and disadvantages, of peeling non-organic apples to decrease consumption of pesticides if you can’t buy organic. In sum, if you can afford to buy organic produce, that’s the way to go to limit pesticides. However, don’t avoid fruit if you can’t find or afford organic.
