ADCES Engagement with Endocrine Society’s Efforts to Reduce Hypoglycemia

The Endocrine Society has, since 2015, identified and has been focused on decreasing the incidence of hypoglycemia among adults with type 2 diabetes at high risk. I’ve served during these years as a member of the Steering Committee of the HypoPrevent study representing ADCES and Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. In this ADCES Perspectives in Diabetes Care blog I shared why the initiative was started, how ADCES has been and continues to be engaged and reference several publications published as part of this effort. Of special note is publication of the Quality Measure Set for Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes At Risk for Hypoglycemia (Endocrine Practice, April 2020). The blog continues with an interview I conducted with the study coordinator, a DCES, of the initial site for the HypoPrevent Study.
